An interview on the Global Wellness Podcast

I recently had the chance to talk with Dr. Lindsay Frey on the Mental Health Without Borders: The Global Wellness Podcast, where we explored some of my favorite topics - ADHD, trauma, cross-cultural identity, and what it’s been like to build a therapy practice after moving from Seattle to Sweden.

It was my first time being recorded on a podcast and I was SO nervous - but now that I’m 41 I am finding fewer excuses to not be brave :) As I should have known, Lindsay wasn’t scary and the conversation went great. We touched on:

  • How ADHD and trauma often overlap in ways people don’t recognize

  • The emotional and cultural impact of relocating internationally

  • How executive functioning shifts under stress

  • The differences I’ve seen between U.S. and Swedish mental-health systems

  • What healing can look like when people finally feel understood

If you’re curious about the lived experience of ADHD, what adult ADHD assessment and trauma-informed support looks like here in Sweden, or the behind-the-scenes of moving abroad as a therapist and parent, I’d love for you to give it a listen.
